Job Purpose

The Infrared Test Technician will safely perform infrared surveys of electrical equipment at a variety of customer facilities.  The work includes identifying equipment to be surveyed, opening, and replacing covers, capturing Infrared and natural light images, taking current measurements and properly documenting results. May include other testing duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all work in a safe manner.
  • Communicate directly with clients.
  • Operate an Infrared Camera properly to capture necessary images.
  • Remove and replace covers on electrical equipment.
  • Record current readings as necessary.
  • Document results.
  • Prepare final report.
Qualifications (Required)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to work safely and adhere to all electrical safety procedures.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
  • Able to work overtime and travel out of town for periods of time.
  • Must be able to work safely and adhere to all electrical safety procedures.
  • Able to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, able to lift 70 lbs.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record.
  • Minimum 1 year in the electrical field.
  • General PC skills including email, internet, data entry and Microsoft Excel.
Qualifications (Preferred)
  • Previous or current Level I, II or III Thermographer Certification.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • OSHA 30 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training
  • Two or more years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Infrared Thermographic Cameras.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Pay-rate depending on experience and qualifications. $26.00 – $38.00 per hour plus overtime
